Ausome Cutz Inc. Empowering the Neurodivergent Community

Ausome Cutz Inc. is a 501c3 Nonprofit Organization based out of Philadelphia, PA.

We provide haircutting services for the neurodivergent community.  We provide these services in a local barbershop and at community events.  I, Ronald Berrian, am the Executive Director and a professional neurodivergent licensed barber who has both personal and professional experience in working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals. My wife and I, Monique Berrian the President, work together to meet the needs of both the individuals we serve, and the loved ones who accompany them.  At our haircutting events, we provide baked goods and other treats, along with sensory toys as incentives and rewards for the individuals receiving haircuts.  Monique also provides a backdrop so that the families have a welcoming experience as well as memories of the event. Our daughter Indya Berrian, the VP who is also neurodivergent takes pictures of the entire event and also individual pictures of each person in front of the backdrop  who received our services.  

We do not shy away from clients with significant needs and have even successfully worked with clients who have aggressive behavioral tendencies. 

In addition to the boost in self-esteem the clients receive from getting a professional haircut, we also provide a sense of community to those we serve. We have firsthand knowledge of the challenges and unique experiences that come with raising an autistic child, and provide a much-needed listening ear, nurturing spirit, and referrals to community resources.

We create a sensory-friendly experience, and tailored approach to each client’s needs, including providing sensory-friendly toys, taking frequent breaks as needed, and giving delicious homemade baked goods as an incentive or reward for making it through the haircut.
